We hate New Year's resolutions.
We’re leaving behind those empty promises, ineffective diets, and other people's expectations. Two years ago, we went in a different direction…after listening to Tim Ferriss’ podcast, we started to think about systems vs. goals.
Goals are short-term and fickle. When we don't achieve that specific goal, we're left with a feeling of failure and little progress towards what we actually wanted to achieve. Systems, on the other hand, are a way of looking at the world that help us improve our odds and increase the "surface area of luck" - even when things are failing. Systems lead to lasting change and ultimately, the most valuable lessons.
So what are our systems for 2021?
Listening to you, our community: We look for your feedback everywhere (reviews, emails, Instagram DMs, texts), because you help us figure out what we need to do better and what we should make next (we hear you ladies.) Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
Ruthless prioritization: As a small company, every hour in the day counts. We are continuously asking ourselves what is the one thing we should be focused on right now to be the most effective (writing you this email!)
Raising the bar on the fashion industry: The fashion industry has a history of negative impact on the environment, from water and pesticide usage to disposable fashion. While we don’t expect to be able fix everything right away, we know that if we focus on continuous improvement across our supply chain, we tread lighter on the planet. This means we're doubling down on sourcing sustainable materials with Better Cotton Initiative and TENCEL, certifying our fabrics with OEKO-TEX100 to be free from harmful chemicals, partnering with One Tree Planted to support global reforestation, and more to come in 2021.
Cheers to a healthy, happy year!
